NOTE: Mandatory bike check in will be Friday night from 5:15 - 9:30 PM at
Transition area 1. (see course maps for details.) Transition 1 will be open Saturday morning 5 -6:30 AM for final bike check. Those that have requested a late day pick up ($10 fee) will be able to do so at T1 Saturday morning. Body marking and chip pick up will be at the swim start area 5:30 – 6:40 AM. Parking at swim start will be provided at 3 different areas and the walk from the farthest area is approximately .5 mile. We recommend that athletes traveling with family/friends be dropped at the swim start. The closest parking area will be reserved for athletes traveling alone. Shuttle rides will be provided from the finish line to cars for athletes as needed leaving every 30 minutes from 11:30 until 3:30.

**Race day packet pick up is available for an additional $10 fee. Packets must be picked up no later than 6:00 AM at T1. There is no race day registration.
PLEASE NOTE: Photo ID's and USAT card must be presented for packet pickup. If you forget your USAT card, a one day license will be required to purchase. No refunds given to those participants who have not picked up their packets.

to have Steve Born from Hammer Nutrition, author of the "Endurance Athlete's
Guide to Success" be our keynote speaker at 4:30 PM. Steve will teach
"everything you need to know about optimum caloric, electrolyte and fluid
intake for training and competition." As an added bonus, those in
attendance will receive a free copy of his book and free samples. Be ready
to ask all the questions you've ever had about nutrition and training!
Pre-Race Meal

Cost of meal included in registration. Additional tickets can be purchased for $10 when you register or for $15 at packet pick up.
USAT Membership
The Vikingman and Aquabike are USAT sanctioned events. All participants must be a current annual member of USAT, or you may purchase a one day permit for $10 at registration.
All established USAT rules will be in effect and will be strictly enforced. You must show your USAT member card and your photo ID at packet pick up - no exceptions. Friends and family will not be allowed to pick up anyone's packet. ****New USAT rules: If you are an annual USAT member and do not bring your member card to packet pick up, you must buy a $10 one day membership. There are no more duplicate applications. USAT no longer allows the purchase of annual memberships at packet pick up.
Awards and Amenities
- Overall Male and Female and Masters Male and Female.
- Age Group will be 3 deep for both Male and Female.
- Athena/Clydesdale will be 3 deep. Divisions are 18-39 and 40+.
- Relay Team awards will be for top 3 in each category (male, female, coed).
- All racers who are registered by March 31 are guaranteed to receive a cool-max t-shirt and goodie bag when they pick up their packet.
- All finisher’s will receive a finisher’s medal.

Weather/Water Temp/Foul Weather Plan
Average temperature on race day: low 70 - high 85.
Water temperature will most likely be wetsuit legal. USAT Wetsuit rules will apply – participants allowed to wear a wet suit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

For safety reasons, Vikingman staff reserves the right to modify or cancel a race due to severe weather conditions. When severe weather is present, all precautions will be made to ensure the safety of the athletes.
Chip Timing by Spondoro
This is a chip timed event. Each participant will be required to wear a timing chip in order to be counted in the results. Timing chips are assigned to participants according to bib number. Please pick up your timing chip the morning of the race at the chip timing station beginning an hour before race start. ALL TIMING CHIPS SHOULD BE RETURNED AFTER YOU CROSS THE FINISH LINE. A $30.00 fee will be charged to the participant if the timing chip is not returned. Awards are based on chip times.
